As a longtime fan of The Chi, attending the Season 8 Atlanta Premiere at The Bank Event Center wasn't just another event on my calendar, it was a chance to celebrate a series that has entertained, inspired, and sparked conversations for years.

Presented by K. Botchey, Lex Enterprises, and Media Girls on Tour, the evening felt like a true celebration of the show's impact. Hosted by The Chi stars Michael Epps and Cortez Smith, the atmosphere was electric from the moment guests arrived.

The experience started before even walking through the doors. The entrance was lined with The Chi branding, including a carpet featuring members of the cast, immediately immersing guests into the world of the show. Once inside, attendees were welcomed by a backdrop where they could capture their pictures and media prepared for interviews with cast members and special attendees.

The event space was filled with experiences that kept guests engaged throughout the evening. Mercedes Benz showcased a stunning G-Wagon, it added a touch of luxury to the evening. Patron kept the drinks flowing while live music and a photo booth added to the energy and excitement.

Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for, the screening!

Watching Season 8 felt different. It wasn't just another season premiere. It felt like the beginning of the end of a journey that started on January 7, 2018. Over eight seasons, The Chi evolved from a coming of age drama centered around life on Chicago's South Side into a cultural staple that explored family, friendship, loss, growth, and community.

Like many fans, I've watched characters grow up before our eyes. We've celebrated their victories, felt their losses, and followed their journeys through some of life's toughest challenges. That's what made the show special, it gave viewers characters who felt real.

As the credits rolled, it became clear that saying goodbye to The Chi won't be easy. Few television shows manage to remain relevant and connected to their audience for as long as this one has.

Following the screening, Michael Epps and Jacob Lattimore took the stage to thank fans for their years of support. Their appreciation for the audience was genuine, and it was a reminder that the show's success has always been built on the connection between the cast and the fans.

The evening also brought out several familiar faces, including Jacob Lattimore, Jason Weaver, Amber Reign, Reginae Carter, Deelishis, and many others who came out to support the cast and celebrate the series.

And when the screening ended, the night was far from over.

The afterparty kept the energy alive as guests continued to celebrate, network, and reflect on the show's legacy. Nobody seemed eager to leave, and honestly, who could blame them? It felt like everyone wanted to hold onto the moment just a little longer before officially saying goodbye.

As a fan, photographer, and storyteller, it was an honor to be in the room for such a memorable occasion. The Chi has left a lasting mark on television and on the people who have followed its journey from Season 1 through Season 8.

While the show may be coming to an end, its impact won't be forgotten.

To the cast, crew, writers, and everyone involved in bringing The Chi to life, thank you for eight unforgettable seasons. I wish each of you continued success in your next chapters and can't wait to see where your careers take you next.

The show will be missed.
